2017 Trend setters

Never have to cry out ‘I can’t do anything with my hair!’ again. From working a ombre/sombre to trying out some plaits and the latest hair lengths  – these are the trends that will take you all the way through 2017 with (hair) style.

BALAYAGE: A hair colouring technique that continues to grow in popularity. Instead of classic foil highlights, balayage is colour applied straight from a board onto the hair. Consider it ‘colourist free-hand’.

LOB: What do you call a long bob? A lob of course! A great length if you want to keep it sensible lengthwise but still want to tie it up. Cara has set the bar here on the very fashionable lob. You can’t move for lobs in the fash pack right now.

SHADOW ROOTS/ NATURAL ROOTS: Do this trend before the grey sets in and you no longer have the choice! Can look sublime like Jennifer Lawrence here, or rock chick chic.

OMBRÉ/SOMBRE: A better blended update of the dip dye, Ombré has a more obvious colour difference whereas the Sombre is a subtle nod to the style where the colours blend seamlessly.

PLAITS: whether it’s a Fishtail, Unicorn or a Four Strand, and wearing them as partings or corn rows, plaits are big this year!

The great thing about a Trend is that they are changeable, so have fun and try something new!
